What’s Good:
— Tapsee Panu does justice through her acting. She has rose as a star and is a treat to watch.
— Akshay Kumar’s ‘more than’ a cameo. All ‘SEETIMAAR’ moments whenever he appears on screen.
— Prithvi Raj as the gangster looks stylish and fearful.
— Action sequences are well directed.
What’s Bad:
— 1st half is too dragged with extended melodrama.
— Nothing in the movie engages you at all.
— The songs sequences are strictly avoidable. There was no need to put them in first place.
Overall, if you forget about ‘Baby’ (which you cannot), even as a standalone film, “Naam Shabana” is a weak movie. May be because Neeraj Pandey did not direct this himself. It lacked almost every element we experienced in ‘Baby’, ‘Special 26’ or ‘A Wednesday’. You can still watch it though we feel ‘Poorna’ would be a better watch this weekend.
