Drishyam – Trailer Analysis

Drishyam – remake of Malayalam movie of same name.
A delicious trailer that generates curiosity of right amount.

Drishyam sees Ajay Devgn as a fourth grade failed common man, who is holding the fort for saving his small family from the rich and powerful. The ordinary avatar of Devgn is the most admirable as he has given some of his best performances in these kind of roles, and it is good to see him not doing over the top dialogbaaziand out of the Rohit Shetty world.
The bets get even higher as we see Tabu, one of the most competent actors in the industry, as a tough cop. In the first scene she is underestimating Ajay’s character and later she is regretting to do that. That adds to the twist factor as it reminds me the character Ajay played in 2002 thriller Deewangee.
The director Nishikant Kamat helming the movie has two remarkable hindi movies to his credit, the first one is Mumbai Meri Jaan, which received tremendous critical acclaim, and the last one Force which was a successful action thriller. Force was a remake of Tamil movie Kaakha Kakkha. In between he has also delivered a hit Marathi film starring Reitesh Deshmuch Lai Bhaari.
Over all the packaging is good as supporting Ajay Devgn is southern star Shriya and also Rajat Kapoor. The movie releases 31st of July 2015.
