Hidden Figures
First things first according to me Hidden Figures is the best film of the year 2016. Yes 2016 because it was released in the US last year and has done immensely well at the awards for the year. There is not a single moment in this true story that you would want to miss and you should feel lucky that the film has released in india now and we could watch it.
Directed by Theodore Melfi Hidden Figures tells the story of three incredibly intelligent women who work for NASA as contract workers. In the 1960s in America it wasn’t just being the women but being from the colored section of society when there was so much of racism, the level of struggle they face is much higher.
All the three actors Taraji P. Henson as Katherine G. Johnson, Janelle Monáe as Mary Jackson and Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughn are amazing in their portrayal of these real life characters and you will feel the pain and the glory these characters go through.
The screenplay of the film is first rate that will keep the movie going audiences hooked. This journey of these women from back benches to the frontrunners in the space programming is worth multiple views.
There is inherent humor throughout the film that keeps the viewer engaged and there is not a single dull moment in this film.
Supported by the able cast that includes Kevin Costner, Jim Parsons and Mahershala Ali this is a history lesson that needs to retold time and again to inspire the generations and remind each of us of the power of persistence, diligence and hope.
