It is really great to see the Hindi movie industry adopting the real life stories in the mainstream cinema. Neerja, produced by Fox Star Studios is based on the 23 year old Pan Am air hostess Neerja Bhanot who was murdered by the hijackers while saving the passengers in 1986.
Sonam Kapoor plays the title role and the supporting cast includes Shabana Azmi and Shekhar Ravjiani of the Vishal-Shekhar music composers duo. the trailer is impressive and the director Ram Madhvani who has credit for making India’s first ever film (Let’s Talk) shot in digital format, seems to have woven an endearing human drama with ample thrills.
