Sherlock Season – 4 had a long waiting time , almost 3 years since the last season was aired. The expectation were high and so did they delivered. As a first episode of season , The Six Thatchers had its high and low moments.
High :
High Off course was the way the story revolved around John, Mary and Sherlock. The way the episode had been cinematographed.
The idea to add a sentimental angle to the life of Sherlock , Which made us believe that he is more human than we think he is.
Last but not the least the way they gave Mary a large screen space then the others and way Amanda Abbington played the part of someone who left her past but still
Has the skills for it.
Low :
We hoped for a Moriarty Sherlock encounter which never happened(but Sherlock did made us believe that it is just around the corner) , The on-screen chemistry between the Holmes brothers was a bit out of place. The start was a bit over the top but then Sherlock was always an over the top character.
All in all a good start to the season with bit of loose ends which might make sense in future.
