This year marks the completion of 20 years of one of the most successful films in Indian cinema. DDLJ changed a lot about the Hindi movies and made a huge impact in the lives of the artists associated with the film. Raj and Simran became household names and SRK- Kajol pair was established as a winning combo. It became a trendsetter for the forthcoming films and is still taken as an inspiration (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania).
Coincidently Varun Dhawan is starring with Sharukh Khan and Kajol in the upcoming film Dilwale directed by Rohit Shetty slated to release in December. Rohit Shetty also spoofed the climax of DDLJ in Chennai Express.
The Yashraj studio is celebration the 20 years of DDLJ the longest running film in the Indian film’s history, by releasing a documentary on the making. The documentary has interesting details around the film with never seen footage and also interesting research on public reactions and fandom.
