DC Universe on TV

As Marvel Cinematic Universe has already captured the big screen with its meticulously planned phases releasing over a period of time the DC comics characters have also been getting lined up for their own world around the Man of Steel. However so far the DC comics characters have mostly been seen in an individualistic approach where each superhero is getting their own franchises be it the Superman or Batman. However the scenario has been completely different on the small screen where previously Superman was seen doing some overlaps with Arrow and Aquaman in Smallville The currently running shows based on DC have been overlapping and even producing some spin offs lately.

ARROW

The most prominent show currently running is Arrow which has run three successful season on CW and is gearing up for a fall premiere of the fourth one. Arrow is based on the DC comics character Green Arrow who doubles up at day time as another billionaire Oliver Queen. Stephen Amell is playing the lead role with supporting cast including Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and Emily Bett Rickards.

 

THE FLASH

The Flash started as a spin off from within Arrow and became a very successful first season. We are eagerly awaiting the latest season which is slated to premiere in October 2015. Arrow and Flash had several overlap episodes. Flash is the fastest human who is the alter ego of a forensic investigator Barry Allen. Grant Gustin plays the lead role here and is supported by Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L.Martin and Carlos Valdes.

GOTHAM

Also successfully Running is the show Gotham which is a take on pre Batman look on the city where James Gordon a new recruit faces the crime. The series got a very good response in the first season. Ben McKenzie plays James Gordon, and is supported by David Mazouz as young Bruce Wayne, Donal Logue, and Sean Pertwee. Season 2 has started this year.

 

With emergence of the English entertainment channels in the in TV industry these series are now available to us as well. Colors Infinity is airing the previous Arrow and Flash seasons and Zee Café shows Gotham. Hope we will get the new seasons even earlier.
